Doi Inthanon National Park
This national park which covers an area of 1,005 square kilometers is located on Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest mountain which is 2,565 meters above sea level. Located between Mae Chaem and Chom Thong, the park is comprised of the largest tract of upper mountain forest which ranges across Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, and ends in Northern Thailand. The mountain ranges gave birth to the main tributaries of the Ping river and formed the beautiful waterfalls, namely Siriphum, Wachirathan, Mae Pan, Mae Klang and Mae Ya. The moist and dense evergreen forest is abundant with lichens and wild orchids. The park is also a paradise for bird lovers.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
Locals would say, You havent really gone to Chiang Mai unless youve been to Wat Phratat Doi Suthep. Truly, the place is the most important and famous Chiang Mai landmark. Built in 1383, this mountaintop temple has a chedi (pagoda) that houses holy Buddha relics. The gold-plated chedi lies in the middle of a square marble-tiled courtyard. The four corners of the chedi are adorned with parasols which represent royal regalia. The temples courtyard is lined by a cloister, which contains images and murals depicting Buddhas life. There are also two viharns situated in the middle of the east and west sides of the cloister.
This temple is 15 kilometers from town and is 3,520 feet above sea level. It is the perfect place to get a birds eye view of the city. The temple can be reached via a steep Naga staircase comprised of 290 steps or railcars. The temple is open daily from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Chiang Mai City Arts and Culture Centre

Chiang Mai Night Safari

Wat Chiang Man
The first temple in Chiang Mai built in 1840 B.E., the temple enshrines the Pra Sae Tangkha Mani or Phra Kaeo Khao (a white crystal Buddha image in the subduing Mara position) a sacred Buddha image of Chiang Mai.
Wat Phra Singha
This temple keeps the relics representing the snake year of the lunar calendar. It has a history of 655 years and was established to be a first class great royal temple. It is a temple that retains most of the Lanna art and architecture.
Wat Chedi Luang
This temple has the largest Chedi (stupa) in Chiang Mai but an earthquake made the top of the Chedi tumbled down. It is a valuable historical site.
Wat Chai Mongkol
built during the reign of the Chiang Mai king. Phrachao Tilokarach under the Burmese rule so the Chedi was built in a Burmese style.
Wat Duang Di
was originally called Wat Ton Mak Nuea. One of the rulers of Chiang Mai invented the Lanna style in building the Vihara and Sanctuary (monastery).
Wat Loi Kroah
was built during the reign or the sixth king of the Mengrai Dynasty about 500 years ago. The temple enshrines a Buddha image in the eye offering position and an idol of Phrachao Tanjai.
Wat Dap Pai
a story was told that when Praya Aphai was sick and no one could find a cure. He made a prayer to the Luang Pho Dab Phai and his sickness disappeared. In front of the Vihara is a well that is believed to be a sacred well.
Wat Chiang Yuen
An ancient temple with an octagon shape monastery in a Burmese style enshrining a Burmese style Buddha image. Women are forbidden to enter the monastery acording to the Lanna belief.
Wat Muen Ngoen Gong
built in the Mengrai Dynasty period. It is the Lanna style architecture built in the royal and noble people's quarter.
